Masterclass in Hyperpigmentation
MELINE® is the first and only company in the world specializing in face and body whitening treatments, personalizing its protocols based on phototype, the type of hyperpigmentation, and the area where it appears.
Melasma (also known as chloasma or “the mask of pregnancy”), freckles, dark circles, age spots and sun spots, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation are all types of this skin condition, in which the skin appears uneven in color, photoaged, dull, and worn.
The endogenous and exogenous triggers of hyperpigmentation lesions vary widely: from genetic predisposition, hormonal imbalances, and inflammatory conditions to medications and environmental influences. The causes and treatment of hyperpigmentation continue to occupy the scientific community and biomedical research.
“Thanks to research, as well as a deep understanding of all the factors involved in both the etiology and the pathogenesis of hyperpigmentation, we are able to recognize that ensuring the inhibition of tyrosinase alone is not enough. Controlling the mechanisms involved in both the pre-synthesis and post-synthesis of the pigment is very important, so that we gain control over the entire biochemical process. This is what will guarantee both clinical efficacy and the avoidance of the ‘rebound’—that is, the reappearance of the pigmentation.”
This is one of the points made by MELINE®’s Medical Director, Dr. Victor Garcia Guevara, in a webinar on the specialized treatment of hyperpigmentation, which he presented to the Greek community of clinical and aesthetic dermatology.
In the video that follows, Dr. Victor Garcia Guevara:
- clarifies the types and clinical manifestations of hyperpigmentation,
- provides training on MELINE®’s comprehensive approach through targeted whitening treatments, analyzing their mechanisms of action and presenting their clinical results,
- explains and demonstrates the application of the treatments,
- and finally answers questions relating to the factors that trigger hyperpigmentation, its proper management, and technical aspects of the treatments.
